THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA TO RELEASE

FLESH-HUNGRY "ZOMBIE EP" IN AUGUST

Major U.S. Tour, "Back to the Roots," Now Underway

LOS ANGELES, CA - July 1, 2010 -- They've just had the most successful year of their career - covers of Revolver, Alternative Press, Outburn, AMP and HM, played the Main Stage at Warped Tour, plus the Sounds of the Underground tour, saw their third album, With Roots Above and Branches Below, debut at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Charts and was nominated for a Golden God Award.  So, what is The Devil Wears Prada going to do now?  Release their first-ever EP, the conceptual Zombie EP on August 24 (Ferret Music) what else?  ( http://www.tdwpslays.com )

Fans can pre-order Zombie EP at http://tdwp.merchnow.com/products/118686 and http://tdwp.merchnow.com/products/118685

"The whole thing is just completely based upon zombies," explained TDWP's front man Mike Hranica.  "Last fall, I was on a real zombie kick, I read "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks, and I thought, 'what if we made a zombie song?'  All it took was me just saying that to the band, and we had our hearts set on doing this EP."

Zombie EP is an extremely heavy record that includes songs such as "Survivor," that follows the plight of a man who loses his beloved to the undead and ultimately, in surviving the zombie plague, spends his days warding off the brain-starved and loneliness.  The story continues to unfold with the tracks "Outnumbered," "Escape," "Revive," and "Anatomy."  Serious TDWP fans will note that the Zombie EP song titles are straight-ahead and serious, unlike the "joke" titles that the band's full-length CDs have been known to feature - "Reptar, King of the Ozone" from 2007's Plagues, as an example.

"The sound is definitely The Devil Wears Prada, but so much more," Hranica continues.  "It's sinister and bad-ass."  Guitarist/vocalist Jeremy DePoyster agrees, maintaining that Zombie EP is faster than anything TDWP has done before.  "It's going to be sick," said DePoyster.  "It's us, but it's more Hatebreed-influenced and just straight-up thrash metal-influenced with some serious Slayer riffs."

The release of Zombie EP will be preceded by a major Summer tour, with TDWP playing some of the biggest venues of their career, and multiple nights in some of the smallest, 25,000 screaming kids one nigt, and 250 hot and sweaty fans the next.  The "Back To The Roots" tour, in partnership with Rockstar Energy Drink, kicked off last week and will go through to the Labor Day weekend.

"We wanted to go back to our roots," said Hranica, "play little hole-in-the-wall places where fans can be right there in front of the stage, where we can hand someone a mic and really have the fans be an active part of the show, not behind a barrier ten feet away."

ANGELS OF BABYLON TO RELEASE ‘KINGDOM OF EVIL’ ON JULY 27TH, 2010

ANGELS OF BABYLON is the answer to your heavy metal supergroup prayers. This new amalgamation of epic sound features former MANOWAR drummer Rhino, Arizona based power-metal vocalist David Fefolt, guitarist Ethan Brosh and MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. Their debut album Kingdom of Evil was released in Europe by Metal Heaven Records in January of 2010, and in Japan with Hydrant Music in May of 2010. ANGELS OF BABYLON recently signed with Burnhill Union Records, who will be releasing the record to the United States on July 27th, 2010. Kingdom of Evil is now remastered, and features three previously unreleased tracks.

With this intense line-up of heavy metal greats and sharp musicians, ANGELS OF BABYLON is sure to see success in this evolving industry and genre. Forging ahead with the sounds of classic metal, while bringing fusion of new technique and prowess, the band is a new force to be reckoned with. With the launch of Kingdom of Evil worldwide, Earth will soon know the excellence that is ANGELS OF BABYLON.

“At a point in metal history when the best music moving forward is really drawing from our pasts, ANGELS OF BABYLON has become a unique and eclectic composition of music and styles, encompassing many from across the entire genre,” states bassist David Ellefson. “Power, melody, and hooks stand the test of time regardless of what category the 'experts' put it in.”

ANGELS OF BABYLON drummer and Nashville, TN native Rhino began compiling tracks featured on Kingdom of Evil many years ago, but was patiently waiting for the optimum lineup to record and release an album. Rhino is well known for his amazing work with MANOWAR. In 1991, Rhino appeared on The Triumph of Steel; one of MANOWAR’s best selling album to date. Rhino continued on with MANOWAR, touring Europe multiple times and cruising through Japan between 1992-1995. Rhino left MANOWAR in 1995 to pursue personal interest. In the coming years, Rhino was soon introduced to Fefolt, Ellefson and Brosh, and they provided the key to his inspiration to forge ahead and complete the album.

Vocalist David Fefolt feels this album will surprise a lot of people due to its classic metal sound, but with an accent of majestic arrangements throughout. Fefolt was a member of the epic metal band, VALHALLA, and their debut album is still considered one of the staples of metal vinyl collectors worldwide.

Bassist David Ellefson is well known for his time with thrash icons MEGADETH. From1983 to 2002, Ellefson held his place as the co-founder and original bassist in the band. In February of 2010, Ellefson rejoined the ranks of MEGADETH, just in time for the much anticipated "Rust In Peace" 20th Anniversary tour of North America, aside fellow thrash legends TESTAMENT and EXODUS.

Guitarist Ethan Brosh graduated from Berklee in 2004 with honors and a major in songwriting before returning to the school in 2008 to teach. Brosh is currently an instructor in the guitar sessions program. His debut instrumental album Out of Oblivion, was released on March 24th 2009 by Magna Carta Records, and features impressive guest appearances and production credits.

STREET SWEEPER SOCIAL CLUB TO RELEASE THE GHETTO BLASTER EP AUGUST 10TH

ROLLINGSTONE.COM DEBUT’S 1st ‘SINGLE “PAPER PLANES” (M.I.A. Cover)

PLAYING ROCK THE BELLS, SELECT WARPED TOUR DATES & VOODOO FESTIVAL

** MUSIC AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST**

Street Sweeper Social Club, the band comprised of Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine/Audioslave/The Nightwatchman) and Boots Riley (The Coup), return with The Ghetto Blaster EP, out August 10th on SSSC/ILG. It's the follow-up to their 2009 critically acclaimed, self-titled debut. The lead single off the seven song EP is a cover of M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes" which RollingStone.com has the recorded debut of HERE.

Starting today, fans have the opportunity to pre-order The Ghetto Blaster EP at SSSC's own webstore - http://sssc.hasawebstore.com - They'll be able to choose from autographed CD's, vinyl and bundles that include both, plus a limited edition t-shirt. A digital download of "Paper Planes" is available as an instant gratification track with any pre-order.

Tom Morello on the new EP: "On The Ghetto Blaster EP we were shooting for a combo of the first Clash record and the Ohio Players greatest hits, interwoven with tractor trailer size riffs of course. This record definitely has more of a 'band' feel than the first, and Boots’ lyrics and delivery have never been sharper."

Boots Riley on the new EP: "This EP is much more raw, rough, and rugged. We did it in a little studio and got a big sound. We had overflowing, musically violent and beautiful energy in that room - five dudes sweating and bouncing off the walls, and we captured it in the recording. Because of us touring together for the past year, it's a more organic meld of our styles and personalities. The music Tom wrote for this EP will make you go nuts. The covers we did are done with love and our own swagger. I like it better than our last album."

The M.I.A. cover quickly became a fan favorite when they were on the road with Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction last year. After their Coachella performance in April, the LA Times gushed "The Social Club proved something important: that rap and rock, such a treacherous pairing given its history of appealing to the testosterone-heavy, shirtless frat-dudes, can be strong and beautiful, smart and angry." Meanwhile, Spin awarded SSSC's "Paper Planes" rendition at Coachella this year as the festivals "Best Unexpected Cover" in their review.

SSSC will be out on the road in support of the EP playing select Warped Tour dates and all of the Rock The Bells Festival in August with Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest & Wu-Tang Clan among others.

MANY MORE ARTISTS COME ON BOARD BP BOYCOTT

MOMENTUM BUILDS ON KORN’S INITIATIVE

Shortly after the announcement of top touring artists joining the BP boycott started by Grammy-award winning rock band KORN, a large contingent of top touring bands have joined the cause.  New additions to the boycott against BP and its affiliates include Maroon 5, Shinedown, 30 Seconds To Mars, Chevelle, Sevendust, Puddle of Mudd, Neon Trees, Halestorm, Mutiny Within, Saliva, Soulfly, Story of the Year, Adelitas Way, 10 Years, Hail The Villain and the Carnival of Madness Tour.  These touring artists join the already extensive list of those committing to avoid BP, bringing the total to 30 artists and two national festival tours (complete roster below).

“As someone born in Louisiana, this hits close to home. It is an already fragile ecosystem hit by this terrible and senseless tragedy of unprecedented proportions; it is heartbreaking that this has happened. As people work to find solutions to help deal with this catastrophe hopefully there will be new measures put in place to address the dangers of our complete and total reliance on fossil fuels.” – Jared Leto, 30 Seconds To Mars

“We've noticed the BP oil disaster being referred to as one of our country's biggest natural disasters, but let's be clear, this is a man-made disaster. Even the word "spill" is misleading, as what happened in the Gulf of Mexico was April 20th, 2010 was and is a systematic failure on the part of a corporation made too powerful by the exiting Bush Administration. Boycotting BP will not end our dependency on oil, or change the fact that our infrastructure is set up so that we all use oil in some capacity of our daily lives.  But it sends a message loud and clear that consumers will not tolerate the kind of reckless irresponsibility and lack of respect BP has shown for, among many things, the myriad ways of life in the Gulf Of Mexico. If it makes even one company re-think it's safety measures, or maybe off-shore drilling as a whole, your voice is worth it. Until corporations grow a conscience, the only place to hit them is their wallet; their bottom line.

Is boycotting BP the answer to our nation’s dependency on oil? No. This disaster signals that America is overdue for radical changes in our infrastructure, not just a boycott. Are the gas stations you visit instead of BP perfect angels? No, but they are scared shitless that you might boycott them too, and if that's what it takes to get them to clean up their act, so be it. The worst thing that we can do is stand by and do nothing. Inaction will ensure that this happens again, so please be a part of the solution. Rise Against is proud to be a part of the growing list of bands that have committed to boycotting BP, and we hope you too decide to be a part of the solution in these tumultuous times.” – Rise Against

Here is a complete list of participants in the BP Boycott - KORN, Disturbed, Lady Gaga, Rise Against, Godsmack, Backstreet Boys, Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Slightly Stoopid, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Black Label Society with Zakk Wylde, Anthrax, Filter, Hellyeah, Flogging Molly, Maroon 5, Shinedown, 30 Seconds To Mars, Chevelle, Sevendust, Puddle of Mudd, Neon Trees, Soulfly, Halestorm, Mutiny Within, Saliva, Story of the Year, Adelitas Way, 10 Years, Hail The Villain, and the Carnival of Madness Tour

Self-admitted workaholic Rocko first stepped out from behind the scenes – as an Atlanta-based artist manager, songwriter, promoter, and head of his own label (Rocky Road) – nearly two and a half years ago with his debut single “Umma Do Me.”  The track sold more than 176,000 downloads and over 874,000 Ringtones, peaking at #9 on the Billboard Hot Master Ringtones chart.  Def Jam debut album, Self Made entered the Soundscan at #6 and spent a solid half-year on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums, scanning more than 110,000 sales.

Self Made lived up to its title, reflecting Rocko’s rise to the top, a ten-year veteran of Atlanta’s highly competitive hip-hop arena who has been putting together hits for most of that time.  He learned to write and format songs and create beats, while serving as a talent scout for Universal Music.  His first act was Hitman Sammy Sam, whose novelty “Step Daddy” earned a deal with Universal.

In 2003, Rocko’s first mixtape, NWA (No Wack Artist) featured Juvenile, Turk, Jazze Pha, Bone Crusher, and others.  In the interim, continuing to work with Universal, Rocko was connected to deals with Dem Franchize Boyz (their self-titled debut, 2004) and Young Dro (signed to Atlanta-based T.I.’s Grand Hustle label in 2006, distributed by Atlantic).  Rocko’s production company also tracked songs for Lil’ Flip and Pastor Troy.

But it was 2007’s Swag Season, Rocko’s second mixtape, featuring Jim Jones, Rick Ross, Gotti, and Shawty Lo – along with the original version of “Umma Do Me” – that blew up the scene.  After Atlanta’s premiere hip-hop magazine Ozone put Rocko on the cover, he was promptly signed to Island Def Jam Music Group.  “They had their mind made up,” Rocko says.  “I couldn’t even leave the building.”

PIERCE THE VEIL’S ‘SELFISH MACHINES’
DEBUTS AT #1 ON BILLBOARD’S “HEATSEEKERS” CHART
MARKING 400% SALES INCREASE FROM DEBUT ALBUM

July 1, 2010 -- PIERCE THE VEIL’s sophomore album, SELFISH MACHINES, will make its debut on Billboard‘s “Heatseekers” chart next week at #1.  Their 2007 critically acclaimed debut, A FLAIR FOR THE DRAMATIC, had entered the “Heatseekers” chart at #61, which indicates a sales increase of over 400%.  The new album also debuts at #16 on Billboard’s “Top Independent Albums” chart, #98 on SoundScan’s “Top Current Albums” chart, and #105 on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums” chart.

The band--Vic Fuentes (vocals/guitars), brother Mike Fuentes (drums), Tony Perry (guitars), and Jaime Preciado (bass)--took inspiration from their fans and years of non-stop touring into consideration when writing SELFISH MACHINES, so the first week’s success is especially thrilling for them.  "It honestly means the world to us that our fans are getting behind the new record,” beams Vic.  “It is such a newly revived feeling to see them singing the new songs with us on Warped Tour and going just as crazy as we are on stage.  We're gonna try to cover as much of the world as possible on this album and squeeze as many shows in as our bodies and voices can handle."

“All of PIERCE THE VEIL’s hard work on making a great record has definitely paid off,” says Equal Vision Records CEO Steve Reddy. “They’ve shown how dedicated they are to their music and their fans with SELFISH MACHINES.  We're so proud of them and couldn’t be more thrilled about the amazing chart debut."

PIERCE THE VEIL shot a video in Los Angeles last week for the first single, “Caraphernelia,” with director Robby Starbuck (August Burns Red, Breathe Carolina).  It’ll be ready for TV and Internet airplay in the coming weeks.

Since its June 22 release on Equal Vision Records, SELFISH MACHINES has been racking up rave reviews:

“It puts a boot deep in your guts from the get-go…”

                                                            --Robert Ham, Alternative Press

“…an album that proves talent and tenacity can transcend trends.”

                                                            --Ryan Ogle, Outburn

“…this album holds the weight of the anticipation it has accrued.”

                                                            --Andy Mescher, Music Connection

“San Diego’s Pierce The Veil have a real listen-again quality to them; there’s an element of creativity that makes you think ‘Wait, are they really contrasting a fast metalcore riff with handclaps, and chugging guitars with classical piano – all on the same song (‘Besitos’)?’”

                                                            --Amy Bangs, Rock Sound (U.K.)

Can Miami get any hotter than what it already is? Yes, it can. Thanks to Def Jam's newest group Git Fresh, everyone will get a taste of what Miami Rap/Pop has to offer. Pretty $ly, Penny, and Rude Boi sing over the classic Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner" sample talking about bringing a girl they met at Club Living Room back to their own living room. The song is definitely catchy and if you've enjoyed a Flo Rida song or two at one point, then you'd dig what Git Fresh is doing.

In a time where cultures are merging more than ever, diversity has enriched our world in many ways, especially in the form of music. Hailing from three distinctively different backgrounds, the members of I.M.G./ Def Jam’s Git Fresh have made a name for themselves by seamlessly blending their backgrounds to create a super group that is determined to change the face of popular R&B.

“Together our cultures combine and give us a different sound and a different look than you would see in a typical R&B group,” Penny. “We all come from different backgrounds,” Rude Boi. “Me, I’m African American. Pretti Sly is from South Africa and Penny is White. Each member’s influence on the group is different.”

Hailing from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Penny and Rude Boi met in high school at the Dillard School of the Arts. There, they studied various performing arts including musical theatre and vocal training. “Our school was predominantly Black so that developed my interest in hip-hop and R&B and helped my swag,” says Penny. “We had a gospel choir in our school that I was a part of and that was really a big help in me learning different vocal arrangements and chords.”

Meanwhile, Rude Boi met up with Pretti Sly soon after he relocated to the US from South Africa. “As soon as I got here, I met Rude Boi at a talent show and we decided to form a group with Penny says Sly.

In their first years of high school, the boys created the group Deep Side and instead of keeping their combined talent under wraps, they planted themselves in the center of the teenaged universe. “Every Saturday and Sunday we used to be just performing inside the mall,” says Rude Boi. “If we’d see pretty girls walking by, we’d stop them and sing for them.” The guys also entered local talent shows, where they were approached by their former manager who was their first ticket into a legitimate recording studio.

Not long after, Deep Side was invited to perform in Chicago at R. Kelly’s birthday party. At the time, they had recorded a song called “Shook” which was getting radio play in select markets. R. Kelly was thoroughly impressed by the young group’s performance and connected them to his A&R Wayne Williams who was signed the guys to their first label deal. Two years later, the group decided to leave the label and break ties with their former manager and head out once again on their own.

In 2008, the guys moved to Atlanta and wrote and recorded “Booty Music” under their new group name, Git Fresh. The highly addictive hit quickly picked up hundreds of spins in major markets across the country. It wasn’t long before the boys were fielding calls from multiple major labels. Although they incited a multi-label bidding war, Git Fresh saw the most prosperous future with Def Jam Records.

“We went into L.A. Reid’s office and we performed two acapella songs for him and he was sold after that,” says Rude Boi about Git Fresh’s audition for the Island Def Jam Chairman. “I remember jumping on L.A.’s desk! He told us we weren’t leaving New York without signing to Def Jam.”

Git Fresh solidified their deal in the beginning of 2009 and quickly got started recording their debut album. Around the same time, they also joined Strong Arm Management, who also manages hit maker Flo Rida. Git Fresh’s first single, “She Be Like” is a fresh take on Suzanne Vega’s hit “Tom’s Diner” where the guys ride through the club popping bottles, while “What’s Your Favorite Place” finds them singing about their favorite places to entertain their lucky guests.

On “Earth, Wind, and Fire” the boys express their love over a moody, up-tempo track that leads into “Singin,’” a playful song that talks about mattress springs overpowering their mood music during a raucous love making session.

“We like to go out and have fun,” says Rude Boi. “That’s who we are. We’re young guys in the prime of our lives and our album is definitely a party album, it’s all about the ladies. We don’t even like to consider ourselves as R&B, we just make good music. The sound is new and fresh, it’s something that you wouldn’t expect to hear from a three man group that’s just crooning.”

Combining their different backgrounds and experiences, Git Fresh has managed to find a perfect musical balance. Citing Michael Jackson, Jodeci, and Sam Cooke as influences, Penny, Rude Boi and Pretti Sly all bring a valuable piece to their collective puzzle.

“We have a lot of different styles—a lot of crazy melodies and different influences that you’ll hear in the music,” says Rude Boi. “We could sit down in front of you and sing harmony all day or we could sing a club song so I like to think the group is extremely well rounded in that way.”

Git Fresh—A more perfect union.
